The origins of the farm date back to Etruscan and Roman times, when it was chosen as the site to erect a watch tower.
A castle was later built, which first appears in the 1580 charter of the Capitani di parte Guelfa. The current structure, built after the castle and converted into a villa, dates back to 1793.
The property complex, located in the municipality of Greve in Chianti, consists of three main buildings:
– An A/4, residential, classified with a surface area of 350 SQM;
– A B, commercial premises, plus two warehouses, with a surface area of 400 SQM;
– A C, a wine-making building, plus a modern, partially closed room, classified as C/2 .
Parts A and B of this historical complex were for centuries a tower, part of a military outpost under the leadership of a noble Florentine family.
Since 1895, when the property was purchased by the current owner, the complex has become the headquarters of the estate, which combines a residential part, office and winemaking.
The land use is as follows:
– Vineyard: 20 hectares approx.
– Olive grove: 4000 trees on 25 hectares approx.
– Hillside lake: 2.5 Hectares approx, capacity of 33,000 cubic metres, regularised according to regulations
– Meadows, pastures, sheds: 25 hectares approx.
